Ruma fair
Today Ruma fair is unique brand of our municipality. The very beginning of holding the fair dates back to 1747, from the privilege given to the city by the empress Maria Theresa. After WW2 practice was introduced of holding this event every year on the third of the month. People come from all over the Serbia to sell or buy things, or just to feel that famous fair atmosphere. About 30000 people goes to the fair, which is aproximately the same size of Ruma itself. Fair offers unique type of entertainment for the masses and literally everything is offered there, as people would say everything from needles to locomotives, people come to buy and sell horses, livestock, agricultural machinery, hunting and fishing equipment, quality leather saddles, fruit seedlings, vegetable seeds, garden sets, wine and brandy barrels, flowers... Ruma fair is one of the most visited fairs of its type in Europe.
Fair is centuries old symbol of Ruma, due to the great interest of sellers and customers from our surrounding countries, extended its duration to 2 days, the 2nd and 3rd of the month.
